Windsor Chapter

This award is presented to the individual who has achieved outstanding success at the Chapter, District and International levels as an MC. Also, one who understands how to communicate with the audience as both a presenter and entertainer, where appropriate. One who always uses material that is suitable for Barbershoppers of all ages and is always prepared and very comfortable when addressing the audience by developing an excellent report.

This certainly does describe Doran and I’m sure all of us could add few more accolades to go along with these that committee has come up with to describe our friend. One that I can personally attest to is that he sings a pretty good Baritone.

Doran has been such a great asset to our Chapter and to the Society in general. Our District and Chapter would be much less without him.

Once again the Windsor Chapter has attained prominence as one of its own has received a very prestigious honour from International in the awarding to our Doran McTaggart the Dave LaBar Award as the Society’s MC of the Year.

In speaking to Doran about this award he says he has only one regret and that is his greatest fan, Margaret, is not beside him to receive this award. She laughed at all his jokes even though she heard them so many times and I do believe that she’s still laughing at them now.

Doran, we are so proud of you because of this honour and we look forward to many more years of you MCing shows and contests. Now, if we could only get you to lighten up just a bit.
As of this writing our chapter is preparing for the Annual Send Off show June 13th and hopefully we’ll be able to raise sufficient monies to financially assist our competitors in Nashville in July. We would also at this time extend our best wishes to all singers in Nashville as they compete for Barbershopper’s highest award. You are all winners. Good luck.
