Windsor Chapter

We had 3 quartets entertaining people as they donated the gifts of life. One picture shows 2 of Windsor ’s own doing their bit for blood. The McCann brothers Andy and Roy have been blood donors for a long time. Andy (he’s the one with the white hair on the couch) has donated over 100 pints and Roy (the good looking one) has given over 75 pints. Quite a feat for these 2 long time Barbershoppers. They tell us they will keep on donating until they won’t take it any longer.

Notice the picture showing one of the Blood Services’ attendants joining in with one of our Quartets. She sang a fine lead part.

All in all Windsor Chapter members spent some three hours singing and just having fun while members of the community gave the gift of life.

I can see this event turning into an annual event. It was fun for us as singers, the donors enjoyed it and so did the staff. A worthwhile event and a terrific public relations affair.

One thing we did neglect was not having members of the press there to tell the people of Windsor and Essex County what great Community supporters the members of Barbershop Harmony Society are.  They will be asked to attend next time for sure.

The Windsor Chapter has been hosting the Pioneer District Send–Off Show for 31 years.  This premier show is held the second Friday in June with all of the profit going to our District Representatives.  The doors and cash bar opens at 6:30 pm; a pasta dinner is served at 7:30 pm; and the spectacular show starts right after dinner at about 9:00 pm.

Our International quartet and chorus reps sing as well as our College quartet reps and our Senior quartet reps.
