Nightwatch Steals the Show  “ A TERRIFIC show!” “Great show!” “Everyone (on  stage) looked like they were having so much fun .”  “Everything went so smoothly - flow and pace of the  show made it seem much shorter than it was.” “A most enjoyable evening.”

But, Nightwatch was the biggest hit. “How can he keep  eating all those donuts and still sing?” And from the  weight watchers in the crowd, “How does he eat all that  stuff and still stay so slender?” Everyone was laughing  throughout their routine.

Unsung Hero of the Night: Pat Lind.

Everyone involved in the planning, preparation, and performance of our show did a great  job, something that definitely showed in the final product. However, one individual went  virtually unnoticed - because the production went so smoothly - our stage manager.  GREAT JOB, PAT!!! And a HUGE “THANK YOU” for your hard work!

If you are looking for a very entertaining quartet for your show, I wanted to recommend NIGHTWATCH, since they simply had people roaring with laughter with their Diner Set (flying donuts and all). I think good comedy quartets are like gold when putting together a great
show. And these guys sing well too!

They are from Milwaukee, WI and go all out to entertain their audiences including costumes, props & sets, and a whole storyline.

They won the 2000 Buckeye Invitational Funny Bone Comedy Quartet contest and the 2003 and 2007 Chicago Region of the a cappella music Harmony Sweepstakes.

If you would like more information about Nightwatch, you can visit their website, www.nightwatchqt.com  I especially recommend checking out their photo gallery or comments on past performances.

Or you could also visit their Myspace page at www.myspace.com/nwsortafunny

Sufficient Grounds has another banner year Singing Valentines all over Shiawassee and Saginaw Co. This year the quartet did  23 gigs which included 3 freebies. Many times the spontaneous freebies are some of the best.

I received a call from Mrs Bob Demoss telling me that her husband loved Barbershop Music. She told me he was at home with HOSPICE coming in and that  he would not be too responsive because he is paralyzed from he neck down. She said he can only show his emotions through his  eyes and facial expressions. I told her we would try to work him in if I could. It worked out so that we could make the trip to  Durand MI. and sing to Bob Demoss.

NOTE:  This couple is on a fixed income and he has not long to live. There was NO CHARGE for our performance.

The following is the letter I received from his wife Doris DeMoss a few days later.

Doris & Bob DeMoss
, “Hi Don & ALL the Sufficient Grounds quartet:  Yes! you sure did make Bob Happy & I can't Thank You enough. When I saw his eyes filling up with tears---I knew he  was enjoying it. He always has enjoyed Barbershop music. When I mention it to him now--he SMILES. You guys are  good--both with your music and in hour hearts. Thanks again, I wanted to get out & get a Thank You card --but thought  this note would be just as good.

Gigs, like this one are PRICELESS!!! Sufficient Grounds turned in a check to the chapter last week for $450.00 for our efforts  on February 14, 2008. Don Terpe, Doc Oliver, Don Horton & T.R. Gerard
