exciting prospect for us when we talked about doing as other quartets in the past had done and visit Chapters. In fact, The Detroit Sound Co. visited every Chapter in the District which was VERY cool. Then we started thinking that as much fun as that would be for us, what if we "visited" in a way that would or could help a chapter the most or add the most value for THEM? So, we embarked upon a brainstorming session. We came up with idea after idea and meticulously documented each of them and came up with two overwhelming conclusions: 1) Each chapter is different and could, and probably would, have different needs, if any at all; and 2) It is evident that none of us in C4 have the biggest brains on the planet since we are certain that we didn't come close to coming up with all of the potential possibilities. So what did these four fun-loving, energetic, creative, and arguably small-brained Chordiologists come up with? We thought that we would simply provide some of our ideas as a starting point as to how we may be able to help out, let it ruminate and take root with people and then ask "How can we help?". So to that end here is that partial list to help get the ball rolling.

Visit a Chapter on a Guest Night.

Work with a Young Men In Harmony outreach program if a chapter has one.

Singing on a Chapter Show.

It is important to add that, yes, Chordiology does have a standard rate for Chapter shows, however, as we said at COTS we want to make ourselves available to help ANY Chapter that may need it so we will have a price to accommodate every budget. Contact Paul at 734-812-5757 for more details.

Join in on a singout that could lead to great press for a Chapter and aid it in bringing in new members.

Give a Chapter some ideas as to how to get outside singing jobs and how they could bring in more outside work than they'd know what to do with. This could be anything from local performances for

COTS! Wow! What a riot! When we were there last night talking with people all we heard was how informative, interactive, and FUN the classes were and that the class leaders were top notch. Oh! And the hanging out and singing afterward, what a BLAST! I believe I heard that this was one of the most well attended COTS in years and I can see why. Maybe some guys that attended would be willing to post some experiences so others could get the "vicarious" effect so they'd consider attending next year! And in case you're wondering... the answer is "YES you SHOULD consider attending next year".

On a separate, yet related topic the Chordiology quartet (C4 for short if you want the inside scoop) talked about the following at COTS and we were asked to post it as well. We basically said that with 2008 firmly on it's way that it seemed like a good time for us to sit back, take inventory and put into motion some of the things that we have been talking about accomplishing over the next year and more. Of course all of us in the Society want to become better singers and performers so we'll mark that goal up to being a foregone conclusion or at the very least a well anticipated response. So, what comes after that?

As you may have guessed Chordiology loves meeting and singing with all kinds of people within the Society: new people, those more familiar to us, and long time friends alike. With that said, it was an

little or no pay that could really benefit the community and improve the Chapter's visibility, all the way up to traveling shows that pay would be commensurate with the level of performance. Paul@Chordiology.com would be the person to contact on this.

Provide a Chapter with ideas on how to build a performance resume and to build a larger fan base and roster to pull from to make future events more successful.

Show people how to utilize the FREE yet powerful recording software Audacity to rehearse without having to meet with your chorus or quartet and thus not missing a "beat" (hey, I thought it was cute). Or how to simply utilize it to record yourself singing with a learning tracks and learn your part. Chordiology has used this to sing one part, email it to the next Chordiologist have them record their part with it and then send it on to the next member, et cetera, until you have a full quartet singing the song without ever having met to sing it. Visit www.Audacity.com and Rob at Rob@Chordiology.com would be a great person to contact for additional information.

Talk about multi-track recorders and vocal mics for recording or performing such as the SM-58 or the SM-57 depending what you are trying to accomplish. For more information on the multi-track recorders Rob would be the best contact and on the mics, Paul would be the best suited.
Anyway you get the idea.

As you can see, the potential for ideas is possibly endless. What it again comes down to is "How can we help?". We understand that we will not be able to accommodate every request, but we'll do our level best. So bring on the ideas and let us know. If you want to email us, we can be contacted at Info@Chordiology.com or again my (Paul) cell phone number is 734-812-5757.

Thanks, Happy New Year and here's to a GREAT '08 and beyond!
